These CVC Decoding Strips are designed to help your students break up and decode the sounds in CVC words. Isolating the individual sounds in words can be a tricky skill for young readers to learn. This activity supports them as they sound out the letter sounds they can see.

Finger dots and blending arrows are used on the strips as a guiding system to help students decode and blend the words. Next, they can use magnetic letters or erasable marker to rebuild and spell the complete CVC word.
